I've always wanted to try denim on denim but I've always been discouraged from doing it because it's considered tacky....yeah right! Denim on denim is the most amazing! I felt so rugged and tough! Spiked  cap, flannel, and wing sneakers just complete the look!!!!!!

Outfit of the Day: It Was Never Really Over

Today was so cold and I ended up sleeping in during my first class!! Oh well, not like professors really care if you attend anyway :) Even though it has been well below freezing, I cannot seem to to turn away from distressed clothing! It's like it's gotten worse. Like I am ripping up all of my jeans so that there are gaping holes at the knees and I'm stretching out my t-shirts so they look super worn! My friend gave me this flannel because she knows I die for distressed and I literally did die because the elbows are completely shredded as well as the back hemline is totally unravelling! Yay for rips on rips!

Outfit of the Day: Gentleman in Black

Hey guys here is an outfit of the day!!!!!!!! I am so excited because this look was styled around my brand new Unif Hellraisers. I've been waiting to get these for at least three months and now finally I have the spiked loafer goodness! Also the waxed jeans my mom picked out and the John Lennon's are just making me so happy that I decided to go for a pink streak! I have to say I love where my style is going these days!

Debate: Men in Womenswear

So this debate has been going on for quite a while in the fashion industry. As women have continuously borrowed from men in the past in order to develop bountiful and chic wardrobes, the question has been raised; Why can't men borrow from a women's wardrobe? Menswear has largely remained the same for the last 60 years, with a shift in the dimension of certain garments or the textile has changed. Doesn't this get borrowing? Why don't we try taking elements from a women's collection so that a man's wardrobe can be more dynamic?

Some things that I think guys can try to liven up their wardrobe, border on the edge of feminine while still retaining their masculinity.

Leggings

This way your legs are still completely covered, but if you want you can try fun prints to liven it up or even layer them under shorts for a more unique look.

Kilts

It's about time we take inspiration from our Scottish brothers. Layer them over pants and keep them dark and monochromatic so that you won't feel as though you're wearing a skirt.

Sheer Shirts

This is actually very sexy when the shirt is collared and paired with a suit or tucked into chinos. Avoid t-shirts so it doesn't feel like you're going to a club. 

Shorter Hemlines

Men used to wear shorts this length. I personally think it looks very sexy and besides, a flash of the male thigh is quite nice and unexpected.

Unusual Textiles

This blazer doesn't feel girly because even though it's sequined and shiny, the silhouette is still masculine. This blazer is perfect for parties and it will catch a lot of attention from the ladies.

Not saying I expect this to happen overnight or for anyone to really take this seriously because transitioning menswear is going to be a lengthy process just like it was with womenswear but I have high hopes. These are just a few suggestions that I hope someone might be wiling to listen to. Let me know what you think below, I'd really appreciate it :)

Outfit of the Day: Witch Hunts

So I'm so excited to be sharing these pictures with you!!!! I just got in an order from Nasty Gal and it was something that I had been wanting for so very long! A hi-low t-shirt!! The hi-low I wanted was something that hit the back of the knees so that it would have drama and movement as I walked along the corridors! I decided to pair it with a button-up, beanie and a spiked bow-tie for some added masculinity! I also tried different lighting effects. What do you guys think? Check it out!!

TIps for Winter Dressing

So, now the party season is now over and we are back to the daily grind but in colder weather, we will have to retire some of the party outfits and bring out the layers.

So personally winter is always affiliated with big jackets but who wants to sacrifice style for warmth? Well most certainly not me. Let's start with the ladies.

For the Ladies:

First things, first you can absolutely wear skirts and/or leggings into the colder months. To keep yourself warm simply add tights, multiple pairs at that.  You can still look fabulous without freezing.

Skip the humongous puffer jacket, unless it has a slender silhouette like the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M down coat. Try a green anorak over a chunky sweater and flannel. You'll still feel cute while wearing pieces that still look stylish.

Don't skip on gloves, although they might feel restrictive they will help you. Besides gloves are so awesome these days! Leather driving gloves, with studs, leather ones that reach to the elbow, and mittens that unfold to fingerless ones.

Don't be afraid of the fur. Fur is so incredibly warm. I guarantee that if you put on a fur you'll feel like it isn't even the winter time.

For the Fellows:

For us guys, we should definitely invest in good hats. There are multiple styles for us to choose from! A beanie, a fedora, a trapper. They will always look nice.

Add a scarf, infinity or classic. Either one looks good. One that hangs down looks great with a classic button up and chinos, circle scarves look great with denim jackets and colored jeans.

Anoraks for guys work the same as for the ladies. Chunky cardigans and flannels keep the look rugged.

Break out the boot socks and the combat boots! Both will keep your feet warm

Try these pieces and I'm sure you'll love them. You will be stylish and still look appropriately dressed for the winter! :)

Trend: Metallic Pants

So guys, I partially predicted it in my post about what I wanted to see people in for the party season of 2012, and I am glad to announce an extension of the trend. Gold clothing has been spotted all around in the street fashion stores and now it's taken a beautiful toll. Pants in shades of bronze, gold, silver, and platinum shades! I've been searching them out to get a hold of them!!!

Personally, I want to get a shade of like dark gold or possibly even silver! I've been lusting after metallic pants since my favorite boy band Shinee rocked metallic looks in Lucifer! I will be heading down to my local Zara or H&M to get some quite soon. What do you guys think of metallic pants?
