Tuesday, July 16

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but florals were big again on the Spring Summer 2014 runways. Bringing a sense of softness and romanticism to classic, masculine silhouettes. This has definitely shown us that masculinity isn't defined by print or colors and instead by silhouettes. Take a look below at some of Menswear 2014's looks.

Trend Alert: Black and White!!!

Sunday, March 31

Black and White is an obvious trend right now. Like I'm pretty sure you can't swing your arms freely without running into a person who is rocking the trend. What makes the trend so awesome and versatile  is that it doesn't look or scream trendy. Black and white is by far the one of easiest of color combinations to pull off, and, it almost always looks totally chic and effortless.

I personally love black and white and there are so many ways to do it!!!!!! Below I'll show how I would style the trend.

For the Street:

Street Stripes Black & White Outfit
Black and white in terms of street wear is totally cool. It makes a powerful statement. Black and white is edgy and simple. Pieces like vertical stripe skinnies are awesome and right on trend.

For Cocktail Hour:

Black and white is absolutely perfect for cocktail hour. It's elegant and chic. Simple and elegant accents are what I think are best.

For a night out:

Alright these pants are fabulous, and so is that top!!! I love stripes in black and white and vertical stripes are just that much more flattering! You'll be sure to stand out even next to bright colors.

For strolling through the city/ a night out:

There isn't anything to say I just love this outfit!!! I think it looks great!!

Trend: Metallic Pants

Saturday, January 12

So guys, I partially predicted it in my post about what I wanted to see people in for the party season of 2012, and I am glad to announce an extension of the trend. Gold clothing has been spotted all around in the street fashion stores and now it's taken a beautiful toll. Pants in shades of bronze, gold, silver, and platinum shades! I've been searching them out to get a hold of them!!!

Personally, I want to get a shade of like dark gold or possibly even silver! I've been lusting after metallic pants since my favorite boy band Shinee rocked metallic looks in Lucifer! I will be heading down to my local Zara or H&M to get some quite soon. What do you guys think of metallic pants?

Trend: Designer Inspired Pieces

Friday, January 11

Photos Courtesy of Choies.com and Revolveclothing.com

So it's hard now, not to see this upcoming trend whenever you're looking through the fashion web. It's something so interesting that I have to love it. It looks like our favorite street fashion brands are taking inspiration from our favorite and most well known designers are being copied by our favorite street brands, allowing us to have a taste of the awesome designs that we can't afford at the designer price point!

CHANEL
$41.99

Everyone has wanted to own something Chanel! The Fake "Chanel" Sweatshirt is right on trend and with a little bit of humor too.

GIVENCHY

32.99

This is based on Givenchy's Rottweiler t-shirt design. This design has been popping up on the street everywhere and can be found at retailers like Romwe and Choies.

PRADA
$136.51

This is a replica of the  Prada stacked brogue wingtip from last season. They were released in limited quantities and cost upwards of $500. You can now have it for a fraction of the price.

CELINE

$61.00

This is actually a design by Brian Lichtenberg available at Revolve Clothing. The words have been changed to FELINE and MEOW so to be humorous yet still retain the look of the Celine Paris t-shirt.

All in all, I have to say that I actually really like the trend. It's very interesting that now, we can all show which designer we love. After all imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Look around. You'll find some great designer inspired pieces.

My Favorite Things of 2012

Wednesday, January 2

thankful 2012

Now that 2012 has come to end I feel as though I should reminisce about the all of the great things that 2012 has brought me. For me 2012 was a great year and for me I broadened my fashion horizons thanks to a year that brought awesome changes!

1. Azealia Banks

Newbie rapper! Azealia Banks is a breath of fresh of air to the rap game. Not only does she have a silver tongue and quick raps but she also has a very distinct fashion sense. You'll see Azealia in everything from '90s grunge to designs from Nichola Formichetti. She's even so loved by designers like Alexander Wang and has been featured in an ASOS campaign. I love Young Rapunxel!

2. Camouflage

I'm surprised how quickly I took to this trend considering a few years back I threw out my old camo pants and swore to never wear them ever again! However I have been known to reconsider and I have to say I love oversized camo jackets paired with skinny leather pants and Dr. Martens! Camo looks better than ever.

3. Sherlock by Shinee

This album was the first physical Korean I had ever bought. I bought it from a mall in K-town and I felt so daebak (^+^) I love the fashion of K-pop and Shinee is one of my favorite bands. The photobook was particularly colorful and I felt encouraged to experiment with color combinations. I have to say my sense of color has drastically improved.

4. Pastel Colored Locks

This by far was my favorite trend of 2012, and one that I quickly participated in ( I dyed my hair the same color as T.O.P. from Big Bang and then dyed my hair white with cotton candy stripes on either side of my head). I was and still am so in love with Easter colored hair! It is so much fun and much easier to look at than the standard Manic Panic Colors. Thank you so much :)

5. Bloglovin'

This website has been wonderful to me since I discovered it two months ago. It makes it so easy to follow my favorite blogs because my Mac's reading list was getting really full! I have also posted my own blog on there to make it easier for everyone as well! You can follow me @glamourcreator.blogspot.com

6. The Re-introduction of Grunge

This was another trend that 2012 brought that I wasn't super excited to see! I really looked back at the '90s and thought it was awful. Growing up I vowed to never ever relive the '90s. However, as I've been looking at the runways and have been shopping around, I've fallen in love with grunge! Flannels, oversized, combat boots...it was always within me and now I'm letting it shine! Thank you for bringing back grunge!

7. Baroque Print

As a person that loves Italian culture, the baroque print was right up my alley. It's so gorgeous and it's like art that you can wear. On top of that baroque makes everything look much more luxurious!

8. The Re-introduction of Platforms

This is probably the manifestation of my long-term desire to be a Spice Girl. Platforms are just so edgy and they are so refreshing. Finally a break from flats or stilettos, lets have something that gives us height but is a little easier to walk in. Welcome back Spice children! <3

Well this is my list for 2012. What about you guys, what are your favorites from 2012, if you'd like, let me know down below :)

Trend Update: Kilt It

Thursday, December 27

I have exciting news! There is another trend I want to talk about today. Now, as a person who likes to push the fashion envelope I'm quite excited to see that this trend is continuing on! After seeing Kanye West rock them I know that we have some leverage. Right now I'm loving kilts and I think that kilts should be something that guys should wear! I think a skirt is a great way to stand out from the crowd. Kilts are very masculine and you can wear them either alone or with pants!

Here are some ways to wear a kilt:

For those who want to keep the kilt classic will wear it like a true Scot, with a crisp white button up, blazer and knee socks or for the more modern update like Marc Jacobs without the blazer  and socks and wear it with gladiator sandals or combat boots. For the edgier guy pair your kilt with pants or leggings. That way you can bring some "masculinity" to the look. I love the way Kanye did it in leather and kept the kilt and pants the same textile for uniformity. You will definitely see me in a kilt as soon as I can go shopping! I can't wait!

Let me know what you guys think of men in "skirts".

Pastel Hair Trend Continues?

Monday, December 17

So Pastel colored hair has been a big trend for 2012. A lot of celebrities, trendy girls, and even some bold guys have taken a gander with pastel colored locks. Personally, I'm really in love with Pastel colored hair because in my opinion it allows some fun to happen without the intensity of standard funky colors. I personally even tried it out myself and rocked a pastel blue afro for a while (until it turned green -.-). Here are some pics.

I have to wonder though, will the pastel hair continue on into 2013, I think it might not that it matters, I'm going to get some baby blue streaks for New Year's. Let me know what you guys think! :)

With Love,
TaeHyeon <3
