Five spots for fashion inspiration

There are times when every self proclaimed fashionista needs a little assistance in the clothing department. For me personally this happens every few months when my personal style begins to shift and change. Whenever I get into these slumps I look to a few sources for some inspiration.

1. LookBook.nu

LookBook is a great place to find inspiration and perhaps the first place I look. Here many fashionables share the latest looks from their chic closets. You'll find styles from classic and preppy to the extremely individual and avant garde. It's quite easy to find some help!

2. The Sartorialist.com

The Sartorialist is a great blog that has been around for several years. It's a simple white blog that relies on pictures and a few choice words. Here you'll find photos of different street styles from all around the world. Here our blogger photographs specific details that he likes such as python prints or sheer hems. This blog will let you know all of the micro trends from around the world.

3. Blog.Solestruck.com

This is the blog to my favorite shoe store on the planet! The shoes offered are cutting edge and so are the pictures on the blog. Here you'll find grunge mixed with current trends and pretty pieces to offer you cutting edge fashion and looks.

Polyvore is perhaps one of the biggest sites on the fashion market right now. It offers people to create collage style fashion boards and then allows them to share these with the world. The possibilities are endless and you'll always find several outfits that you'll love! <3

The Blonde Salad is one of the most amazing blogs that I follow. Chiara Ferragni is perhaps the best dressed and most recognized blogger as of now. Not only is she gorgeous but she is given so many designer pieces to wear and model on her blog. You can always expect to see Chiara rocking the latest trends! <3

Trend Update: Kilt It

I have exciting news! There is another trend I want to talk about today. Now, as a person who likes to push the fashion envelope I'm quite excited to see that this trend is continuing on! After seeing Kanye West rock them I know that we have some leverage. Right now I'm loving kilts and I think that kilts should be something that guys should wear! I think a skirt is a great way to stand out from the crowd. Kilts are very masculine and you can wear them either alone or with pants!

Here are some ways to wear a kilt:

For those who want to keep the kilt classic will wear it like a true Scot, with a crisp white button up, blazer and knee socks or for the more modern update like Marc Jacobs without the blazer  and socks and wear it with gladiator sandals or combat boots. For the edgier guy pair your kilt with pants or leggings. That way you can bring some "masculinity" to the look. I love the way Kanye did it in leather and kept the kilt and pants the same textile for uniformity. You will definitely see me in a kilt as soon as I can go shopping! I can't wait!

It's Christmas! The Treasure Vault pt. 1

So as you know, just yesterday was Christmas!! And Christmas is such a wonderful time I just wanted to share with you what I received. I have to admit I was so very surprised with what I got! I asked for shoes and a camera and I didn't quite get that but here take a look!

So I got the JYP x Monster Cable Diamond Tears Headphones that I have wanted for soo long! They were released so long ago and I had been trying to get them since the summer! I had given up hope because it seemed like they would never be released! When i got such a huge box I thought maybe it was shoes....but no! It was the headphones that I had wanted for soo long! Noise canceling, with clarity that I've never experienced before, and they're pretty.... <3 I am so happy!

Lens Lust: Luxe Sunglasses

Coming back from school has meant coming back to my job in retail. Although the hours have been long (very long) for everyone I've started at a different location than and have actually liked the change! I work at Sunglass Hut and I've been surrounded by luxurious sunglasses all day! I want them now but even with my discount, they are still out of my reach! Take a look at these gorgeous glasses that sunglass hut likes to tease us broke fashion lovers with:

These Dolce and Gabbana frames clock in at $560USD and appropriately so. They 18karat gold placed inside a high-density acetate and come with a special velvet lined chest case.

This here is a BVLGARI shield style. Coming in at $590USD these are a classic. With a lightweight highly scratch resistant and shatter resistant polycarbonate lens that is only part of their luxury. The crystals are handset Swarovski crystals.

This Dolce & Gabbana is a one of a kind and one we are not allowed to have in stores. It is a limited edition frame with gold-plated rosettes around the frame. At $840USD this style was designed for the fashionista who wants to be apart from the rest!

This Versace shield is, I think, the most reasonably priced of all my favorites. It clocks in at $270USD and was actually the first style I loved. With the painted baroque temples and the crystal chain across the brow you're bound to sparkle.

Last, I picked a Tiffany & Co. style. This style is simple and to the point. Simple shape with a black exterior and Tiffany blue interior. It has the signature platinum key with handset Swarovski crystals. This one is going for $380USD.

DIY Pants: The Urban Outfitters Way pt.2

So I'm back with part two of the DIY pants post from Urban Outfitters. In this video Urban Outfitters show us how to transform awesome printed jeans with "stencil" bleaching techniques which are easy and really inexpensive. Check out the video below.

DIY Pants: The Urban Outfitters Way

So, I've been wanting to attempt some DIY projects with studs and spikes because I'm obsessed with hardware on clothing. Recently I came upon some tips for DIY studding and bleaching courtesy of Urban Outfitters. They show us how to make some interesting pants! Check it out:

Outfit of the day: Cowboy Nouveau

So today, I come to you with an updated take on the men who traversed the western frontier! It's cowboy time!!! I found this great suede jacket with fringe detailing and instantly fell in love with it!! I paired it with a flannel instead of a t-shirt to keep the look more authentic but used combat boots to keep it modern. Let me know what you think.
