Can we talk about how Solestruck's new Summer Lookbook: Manila Muscle is the most amazing thing I've seen recently? Like, I'm actually sure I died a little as I was scrolling through the pictures. There wasn't one look that I wouldn't want to wear myself, and I think if that's how Manila Muscle left me feeling, then Solestruck did an excellent job.

Manila Muscle was shot on location in the Philippines. In fact, two of my favorite Filipinos were in charge of the creative process. Paul Jatanya and Karl Leuterio were co-stylists and co-creative directors (click on their names to see their blogs). Both men have an awesome '90s fashion sense and anyone who follows them can see their aesthetics shining through in the looks. Typical of Karl and Paul is chunky footwear, black, lots of layers and oversized everything. The lookbook was very representative of both of their iconic styles.

Each look was executed flawlessly and model Bruce Venida's androgynous appearance only enhanced the appeal of each outfit. My favorite looks were the opening look, featuring the Buffalo x Solestruck 90-2-16 (which is an awesome shoe set atop a platform for the toe and heel) and the closing look featuring the 9035-211 three strap sandal. Both shoes really stuck out to me so I ordered both pairs of shoes and am expecting them next week. Expect a product review sometime in the middle of next week.
